We already knew that Taiwan was voted the second safest country in the world, only behind Japan. But according to Expat Insider, Taiwan is considered the friendliest country in the world. But honestly, is this really much a surprise? Perhaps the reason why Taiwan is so safe is because the people are extremely friendly.
Living in Taiwan as an expat for so long, i’ve had my fair share of friendly encounters. In as many years as i’ve been here, I can’t remember an incident where i walked away thinking “how rude.”
In the info graph provided by Expat Insider, Taiwan tops the list of friendly expat destinations. They are followed by Malta (an island off the North African Coast), Mexico, New Zealand, Costa Rica, Australia, Austria, Luxembourg and Czech Republic.
Meanwhile, the United States doesn’t even crack the top 25 for friendliest country.
As for the “unfriendliest,” you have Kuwait taking the top honors. Kuwait is followed by Greece, Nigeria and Brazil. Next time you plan your trip abroad, consider Taiwan.
